The Catala Club was started in 1930, as a women’s group helping the students and assisting the Jesuits at Santa Clara University. The Catala Club’s main mission is to provide financial assistance to deserving undergraduate students at SCU.
A major symbol for the Catala Club is their Coat of Arms. The Coat of Arms not only echo’s the Catala’s values, but also provides a background into their rich history. There is meaning and symbolism in every piece of the Coat of Arms, from the Acanthus leaves to the ribboned motto, “Monstra te esse Matrem – Be to us a Mother.”
We were honored when the Catala Club approached us to modernize their Coat of Arms. Their main goal was to update the Coat of Arms so it would work within the mediums of print, web, and embroidery while maintaining its original integrity.
